What do you do for Recreation?
I’m passionate about vintage motorcycles. Riding and maintaining them gives me a rare sense of freedom and connection. There’s something special about hitting the road with friends, being exposed to the elements and having to engage fully with every sense. The sound, smell, and movement of the bike blend with your body, creating a raw, unfiltered connection to the moment. For me, it’s more than a hobby—it’s a genuine way of life.
If you were to do something other than what you do for a living today, what would that be?
I’ve often dreamed of living in Italy and building striking homes. Creating spaces that stand the test of time has always fascinated me. But honestly, the grass is greener where you invest your time, and my time is best spent in the moment.
What was the last gift you got for yourself?
A Volvo EV, the best car I’ve ever owned. EVs are the future, combining sustainability with sleek, thoughtful design.
What was the last gift somebody gave you?
A book on Wabi-Sabi, the art of embracing imperfection. It’s a philosophy that deeply influences how I see design and life.
What is your biggest vice, and how do you deal with it?
Controlling every detail. I’m learning to let go and trust the process more, it’s necessary for real growth.
How do you navigate through difficult situations?
I slow down and create space. Often, the solution reveals itself when you’re patient and clear-headed. Focus and a balanced mind are key. My family are always at the center, that’s how I find purpose and motivation to press on.
Name one of your favourite people in the world and why this person is one of them?
My mother. Her quiet strength, patience, and unwavering support have shaped who I am. She embodies resilience and the grace that comes from learning and growing over time. She has endured a lot of hardship throughout her life but maintained her dignity and love. She is a true inspiration for me.
What do you do to stay/get in shape?
I play padel tennis weekly with a group of friends, combining physical challenge with social energy. I also train regularly at the gym with my good friend Mark. It keeps me sharp and disciplined, and helps me avoid getting too fat from all the lovely food my wife cooks.
What was your proudest moment and why?
Launching Anour and seeing people genuinely connect with our lighting designs. That’s when vision becomes reality and when I found my real calling in life.
Which city is cooking you the best meal and where?
Tehran, in my aunt’s kitchen. Simple, soulful food with a deep sense of tradition. I haven’t been back for years, and I miss my family and the people. Mostly, food is at the center of human interaction and that’s why it holds such a special place in my heart. It’s also my childhood memories re-experienced through every bite.
