Name: Frederik Gregersen
City: Copenhagen, Denmark
Occupation: Art Director & Designer

What do you do for Recreation?
Cooking! I find a lot of similarities between cooking and graphic design – it’s all about balancing elements, finding harmony, and occasionally breaking the rules. Running is also a big part of my routine – it's where I reset, find clarity, and sometimes my best ideas.

If you were to do something other than what you do for a living today, what would that be?
Probably something within architecture or interior design. I’ve always been fascinated by how spaces shape our experiences.

What was the last gift you got for yourself?
A new scent. I’m obsessed with smells – they instantly transport me and bring back memories in the most vivid way.

What was the last gift somebody gave you?
Recovery boots! Absolute game-changer after a long run or marathon training.

What is your biggest vice, and how do you deal with it?
Probably overthinking – especially with creative work. I try to counter it by taking action quickly. The faster I start solving a problem, the less daunting it becomes.

How do you navigate through difficult situations?
Head-on. I try to fix things as soon as possible – I’ve learned that the quicker you move through it, the easier it becomes. Procrastination only makes it heavier.

Name one of your favourite people in the world and why this person is one of them.
My sister. She’s my go-to for everything – traveling, running, eating out, just hanging. There’s no filter, no pressure. Just pure, uncomplicated good energy.

What do you do to stay/get in shape?
Running. A lot of it. It’s more than just exercise – it’s my therapy. Occasionally I mix it up with tennis, which brings a totally different kind of joy.

What was your proudest moment and why?
That’s a tough one. Seeing the first issue of Plates out in the world was pretty special – turning an idea into something real you can touch. But also running a fast marathon recently – it was tough, emotional, and gave me a huge sense of achievement.

Which city is cooking you the best meal and where?
Tokyo, hands down. I went to this tiny curry place called YOGORO – their spinach curry totally blew me away. It was just what I call YUMMY :)
